Industry Experience
Job has over 16 years experience in the horticultural industry
in The
Netherlands where he was the owner of Roskam Gerberas, a gerbera
nursery of 22,000 square metres. From 1988 the gerberas where
grown in Rockwol on a bench system.
The Roskam's have extensive horticultural experience, Job's
father started growing gerberas in 1975 and started one of
the first gerbera companies in The Netherlands.
Job joined with his father's gerbera nursery in 1985 and
took over the company in 1994. From that moment on, they started
their own breeding program and propagation facilities.
Some of their own varieties are still sold trough Preesman
(Channa, Deinhardt Lila and Gold Disc ). In early 2000, Job
sold his nursery to his brother and made his move to Australia.
His Australian experience has been as an owner of Roskam
Young Plants Pty Ltd, which sells Alstroemeria, Gerbera and
Rose young plants and provides a consultancy service for Australia
and New Zealand gerbera growers.
Roskam Young Plants Pty Ltd was the first gerbera plant suppliers
who could provide gerbera growers with detailed information
on how to solve growing problems associated with the gerbera
crop.
Job has developed a useful gerbera growing guide, especially
for the Australian and New Zealand gerbera growers. This growing
guide will show you how to grow gerberas in professional greenhouses.
You will also find information about diseases, fertilizer
and chemicals used for successful gerbera cultivation.
